There’s plenty of wildlife that call both Canada and the United States home and wander back and forth between our border, but there is one caribou that got a little too lost.
A radio-collared caribou from British Columbia was found in northwest Montana. According to the Flathead Beacon, the female caribou was emitting a “mortality signal” near Eureka, Mont. The caribou was suffering from tick paralysis, and Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks officials were able to find the caribou before it succumbed to disease.
A veterinarian with the rescue team was able to save the caribou, who is now safely back in British Columbia. –Brian McClintock
