A 228 6/8-inch whitetail was harvested illegally in Ohio, and instead of a deer of a lifetime, a man must pay a $200 fine, $27,851.33 in restitution, and is suspended from hunting in 37 states for one year.
Arlie Risner of Bellevue, Ohio shot the trophy on land he did not have permission hunt on. Following a tip, Ohio Division of Wildlife tracked down Risner, who pled no contest to illegally harvesting the deer in November, 2010.
A hefty penalty to pay for trying to tag a trophy of a lifetime.
