Snow geese populations are booming, which is great for hunters, but farmers along the flyway are not so happy.
Snow geese, according to the Mississippi farmer quoted in this AP story, says that he estimates the stark white cousin of the Canada causes $20 worth of damage per acre. For his 5,500-acre farm, that's $110,000 of repairs he needs to make.
Good solution. Call a hunter! With a special permit, Mississippi hunters can blast away at snow geese through March. And many other states have similar regulations.
