This past weekend, the best deer of the South were on display at the Dixie Deer Classic in Raleigh, N.C., and this buck stole the show.
Chad Coley bagged this massive typical buck during archery season in Lunenburg County, Va. He actually had his bow drawn on a smaller buck, and then adjusted his aim when this monster walked out.
Coley's buck scored 173 4/8 according to Pope & Young, and was awarded the Best of Show and Best Virginia Typical by bow trophies at the Dixie Deer Classic. According to the News Observer, the buck that Coley passed on was later taken this fall, and that buck scored 161. Sounds like some good hunting grounds. –Brian McClintock
