Centerville, Utah Considering Ban on Hunting

Centerville, Utah Considering Ban on Hunting by GoHUNTn TeamJust 15 miles north of Salt Lake City, the battle between outdoor recreationists and hunters is hitting the Centerville City Council.
The marshes on the city's west end are popular hunting habitats for duck hunters, but some are concerned that runners and cyclists are at risk while using a nearby trail.

Since the Legacy Trail was opened, the Centerville Police have received multiple complaints that hunters are making the area unsafe. And Police Chief Neal Worsley passed a hunting ban within city limits to the City Council.

duck hunters showed up to try to stop the ban, saying the wetlands near Farmington Bay on the Great Salt Lake, west of Sheep Road are prime hunting habitat and should remain open.

The council has tabled the matter pending further research, and there are multiple options being considered that would limit hunting, but not an all out ban. We'll keep you posted. Keep fighting the good fight Utah waterfowlers.  –Brian McClintock
