6-Year-Old Survives Mountain Lion Attack in Texas After Father Stabs Cat with a Pocket Knife

Rivers Hobbs, 6, was walking down a sidewalk in Big Bend National Park along the Mexico border in western Texas when a mountain lion snuck up behind him and attacked.
The cat, described as "small, young and in bad shape," according to CBS7.com, latched onto Rivers's face when his dad, Jason, got out his pocket knife and stabbed the cat. The mountain lion let go, and ran off.

Rivers is left with some stitches and scars, but says that it didn't even hurt that bad. It was the second attack in a day at Big Bend. When a family fended off what's believed to be the same mountain lion with a backpack. –Brian McClintock
