Self-Guided Bullet Can Hit Target From A Mile Away

Self-Guided Bullet Can Hit Target From A Mile Away by GoHUNTn TeamTwo Sandia National Laboratory engineers in New Mexico, who happen to be avid hunters, have created a self-guided bullet that can hit a target from a mile away.

Engineers/hunters Brian Kast and Red Jones developed the dart-like bullet to be used to help war fighters.

The four-inch long bullet works by following a laser that directs the bullet to its target. Although they are still in the testing phase, the laboratory is looking for a privater investor to further perfect the bullet and hopefully start production.

Jones says, "We have a very promising technology to guide small projectiles that could be fully developed inexpensively and rapidly." -Robert Frawley
