We all know Punxsutawney Phil, but it's time to meet Potomac Phil. He's also a groundhog that predicts the coming of spring, but without the pomp and circumstance as his Pennsylvanian cohort.
This is Potomac Phil's first year predicting weather at his headquarters in Dupont Circle in Washington, D.C. The thing is, Potomac Phil isn't exactly living.
The organizers were trying to get a live groundhog, but they had to resort to getting a taxidermied version from Miss Pixies Furnishings and Whatnot.
I don't know what's crazier, getting predictions from a live groundhog or a dead one.
Luckily, this year, dead or alive, they predicted six more weeks of winter. –Brian McClintock
