Ken Kuzman of Slatington, Pa. is anxiously waiting to see if his trophy elk will land in the Arizona record book.
According to the Allentown Morning Call, earlier this year, Kuzman bagged a 6×6 elk in the White Mountains near the New Mexico Boarder.
After some wild fires, Kuzman wasn't sure what habitat he'd find. Fortunately, the federal government had seeded the entire area with barley. Thanks to a good growing season the elk were "well fed, fat, dumb and happy."
Previously, he bagged two 6×6 elks in New Mexico in 2008 and 2010, but now that this one is in Arizona he is hoping to make it in the books. Kuzman isn't revealing the green score, but it must have been big enough for him to get his record hopes up. We'll let you know if it lands in the books. -Robert Frawley
