Steven Hopler lost his sight to complications from diabetes, but he doesn't want to lose his guns. The Morris Country Prosecutor, on the other hand, thinks he's unfit to own or purchase fire arms.
They've got some evidence to back up their claim. In 2008 Hopler accidentally shot himself with a .347-caliber Smith&Wesson revolver. The state thinks Hopler, who has also been arrested for being drunk and disorderly, is a ticking time bomb.
He has as many as 14 guns around his apartment in Rockaway Township, and stores them, according to the Courier Post, in places like oven mitts. – Rick Bach
