This is what happens when you try to fire off an arrow that is too short for your bow.
According to Thinking Afield, the man was buying his first bow at Bass Pro Shops, when the salesclerk helping him handed him an arrow that was too short. The man drew back, and fired the arrow straight through his hand and finger.
