Texas Legalizes Hunting Hogs from a Helicopter

Texas Legalizes Hunting Hogs from a Helicopter by GoHUNTn TeamWild hogs are such a big problem that states are willing to go to great lengths to try to get rid of them.
And Texas is putting some stock in sniping the destructive critters from helicopters. Gov. Rick Perry recently signed into law the legislation that allows "pork choppers" to legally operate in the state.

Not only do officials hope that this can help combat the burgeoning hog numbers, but also add another layer to Texas' already important hunting industry.

According to the Star-Telegram, hunters will have to take a safety class before taking to the air with their AR in hand. There are more than 2 million hogs in Texas, and they cause about half a billion dollars of damage.

Here's hoping the sniping works. –Brian McClintock

Ted Nugent was someone who got special permission to snipe hogs from helicopters in 2010. Check out his photos from the adventure.
