Denmark Camper Shoots Friend in Saskatchewan, Thinking She’s a Bear…

Denmark Camper Shoots Friend in Saskatchewan, Thinking She's a Bear... by GoHUNTn TeamThere are a lot of bears in Saskatchewan, and having a protective firearm is a good thing if you're camping up there. But, shooting blindly in the middle of the night is never a good idea.
A 22-year-old Denmark tourist and her 26-year-old friend found this out the hard way when the woman was shot in the torso in the middle of the night. Her 26-year-old friend heard some rustling when the female camper got up to go to the bathroom, according to the report on Global Winnipeg. The group was camping in Whitkow, Saskatchewan.

Instead of waiting to identify what exactly was making the ruckus, he grabbed the gun and fired. Thankfully, the gun shot victim has been released from the hospital, and the shooter has been released from police custody.

Next time, they might want to consider bear spray.
