There was talk about it early this year, and Michigan officials have voted to lift a 3-year ban on deer-baiting for the upcoming fall season in the Lower Peninsula.
Now, hunters will be permitted to leave as much as 2 gallons of bait within a 10-foot square radius starting October 1.
The baiting controversy is sure to rage on in Michigan until the start of the season.
