Full disclosure, WNEP was my local news station back in north-central Pennsylvania, and the meteorologist, Kurt Aaron, actually graduated from the same high school as I did. And I’m pretty sure that none of the people in the newsroom had seen a black bear before.
A sow and her three cubs wandered into the studio’s backyard, where they do the weather, located in Moosic, Pa., just outside of Scranton. Aaron scrambled inside and never quite recovered, and neither did the news anchors. Unfortunately for viewers, they never got their 7-day forecast, those bears were just too persistent. –Brian McClintock
